Company Ethos

The partners Andrew Rowland and Olimpia Conti met in the office of PKS architects in London. Moving to Italy in early 2003 they established two studios. The first was created in Pescara as a response to the socio-economic problems of that city.

The second studio is located in Umbria where they restore old properties for English speaking clients. They feel that their experience can deliver unique solutions to places seeing physical and economic change often linked to foreign business and tourism.

They believe in extracting the sense of the place from any site, making every project unique. This contextual response can be historical, socio-political or economic not just physical, making any responses well informed.

Research into a site informs their designs which are presented initially to the client and potentially to investors, planning authorities and local political interests through models, brochures or other media deemed appropriate to the situation.

On site they are also experienced in controlling the construction budget. They also believe in producing exhaustive detail designs to ensure that the contractor has everything required to realise their ideas, reducing to a minimum variations.
